On Tuesday, May 23, the 2023-24 Student Council Members elected Andrea Alcala and Emilia Houwers as Co-Presidents of Student Council. Andrea and Emilia observed how well the 2022-23 school year went with two presidents, and they wanted to continue with the tradition. Andrea and Emilia explained in their speech how well they complement each other. When Andrea leads her class through hallway decorations, Emilia is leading them through the lip sync practices. They also stated, "We hope to continue to not only impact WHS but give back to our community as well. The city of Whitewater is nothing but supportive of our students’ extracurricular activities whether it be sporting events or plays and musicals. There are several people in our community that are at every single event no matter what. We want to show them that their support doesn’t go unnoticed, and we appreciate them. Maybe it’s another holiday dinner during Christmas time, or maybe it’s another penny war during prom week for the family emergency fund, but we want to show the community we support them as much as they support us."
